I got my Halloween tickets for This Is It!! *squee* And it's directed by the guy who did Dirty Dancing?!? This is going to be epic. LOL @ those awesome geeky black glasses he wears in the movie trailer. I don't know why anyone would do this, but if by chance some h8er paid money just to pull some crap in the theater that I'm in, well ... hell hath no fury like a MJ fan scorned! No one's going to ruin this for me, darn it. I want to celebrate Michael fun and happy times and re-live what it was like to be a fan prior to mainstream haterade. fdls;kajffs;ljfgga :DDDDDDDDDD Speaking of haterade, the Dateline special with everyone's friend Shmuley Boteach has been posted. (Gah, I can't stand his voice! It grates on my nerves like nothing else.) It's worth it just to see the difference between tone of voice and print. Hearing Michael speak and comparing it to Boteach's transcripts of their conversation ... you really see how tone of voice can affect meaning so much. Part 5 is my personal favorite. Oh rofl Madonna. I really want a macro with the quote "I didn't ask you to go to Disneyland -_-" Oh my gosh, the reminder of their Academy Award appearance together really brings back the early nineties!!! In other news, I finished up my edits for my Tokyo! article and I need to freakin' finish my essay for graduate school. I'm hoping to get into a library science program. *crosses fingers* |

![]() I think she was sincerely in love with me and I was not in love with her.... I knew we had nothing in common.... She is not sexy at all. -MJ on Madonna ROFLMAO. Edited by me for maximum lulz. Way to be totally exploitative, Rabbi. Yeah, Michael Jackson could be bitchy and immature about people, especially his musical competition. (If your sense of self-worth was largely tied to your ability to sell records you might be like that, too.) Twenty years ago he called Madonna a heifer because she got an award and he didn't. He also said similar things about Prince. IN PRIVATE (or under the pretense of privacy, anyway.) No way he wanted these tapes released to the public. People who've been interested in MJ already knew he never emotionally made it past the age of thirteen. The flip side of his startling innocence and indiscriminate trust in people he shouldn't have trusted (ahem) is immaturity, egocentrism, deep-seated insecurity, and the inability to articulate himself in a way that doesn't kinda-sometimes make him look deluded. BUT. Do you really want to showcase your "friend" in this light after his death? Because Michael totally would have wanted a "friend" who later insinuated he was a child molester to write a book based on his private and somewhat embarrassing self-revelations. Methinks someone is looking for some quick cash. STILL, I did have to laugh at some of the things he said. Especially in light of Madonna's nice speech about him at the VMAs: Madonna laid down the law to me before we went out. "I am not going to Disneyland, okay? That's out." I said "I didn't ask you to go Disneyland." She said, “We are going to the restaurant and afterwards we are going to a strip bar." I am not going to a strip bar, where they cross dress. Guys who are, are girls. Said "I am not going to go there,” and I think afterwards she wrote some mean things about me in the press and I said that she's a nasty witch. -MJ Gif totally stolen from ONTD. |

I didn't think it was possible to love Michael Jackson any more than I do now. ( I was wrong ) This is why I would pretend sometimes that he was my father (among other things) when I was a child. Even though this speech was made in 2001 and I just heard it today, this is the Michael I remember. Child advocate, compassionate man, tortured soul who nonetheless rose above his tumultuous upbringing to bring joy and love to others. I'm railing against sounding so cheesy, but I can't help it. At least there are millions of others who can back me up on this. |

Oh, now I remember why I put that 1993 Oprah / Michael interview out of my mind.... When a host royally pisses off the guest within the first five minutes, the rest is going to be very ugly. And cringe-worthy. And vicariously embarrassing. And Liz Taylor HELPS NOTHING. Uh, Oprah? When your guest is forced out of his chair to allow an old lady to sit down, the least you can do is offer a second chair rather than continue the interview while he stands around looking uncomfortable. *facepalm* |

Wow, I feel like a part of my childhood just died with Michael Jackson. I used to worship the man when I was 10-12 years old. Seeing his old videos hits me hard now. Anyone who's interested, I totally recommend his biography "The Magic and the Madness" by J. Randy Taraborrelli. My dad bought it for me for Christmas when I was 10 and it was my favorite book for the longest time. I have to run out and get the updated version. |

Hi guys, long time no update. Well, the concise story is that I still haven't found a job yet, I literally get a rejection letter every day, and I'm putting my novel through some serious revision before sending it to the literary agent. It should be done really soon. Since the job market is totally whack, I'm selling some gothic lolita stuff I bought for Halloween. Please let me know if any of you're interested! The items have only been worn once, and of course I'm selling it at a cheaper price than I paid for it. I would ask that you pay shipping though. ( The pretties ) |

I don't get the concept of Scene Queens. D: I don't get the concept of "internet famous." Or at least, insofar as it applies to becoming famous for anything other than your creative work. I don't mean to open a can of haterade or anything, I'm just remarking on it. I love seeing how different people live their ordinary lives. It's not so much the lifestyle of some of the scene queens that intrigues me--actually, that doesn't intrigue me in the slightest. Rather, my morbid fascination is reserved for the people who don't know them personally and yet obsess about these people's lives like they've been friends forever. It's like being obsessed with celebrities, only much, much stranger given that most scene queens are only known tangentially because of who they date. It's so ... sad, in a way. Caught in a drift of meaninglessness. |
